10900kVA Transformer Design



Customer Requirement



CapacityRated capacity is 10900kVA. The rated capacity of 27 groups of basic harmonic winding is 10000kVA. The rated capacity of 6 groups of harmonic winding is 900kVA. The rated capacity of one group of soft starting winding is 150kVA. 


High voltage:  two taps are 35kV and 10kV. Full power output in 35kV tap, and 1/3.5 power output in 10kV tap. High voltage winding is star connection. The capacity shall be able to operate at full power under the condition of 0.9 ~ 1.1un in high voltage. Arrester shall be installed at high voltage side.

Low voltage: 690V(3*9 basic harmonic windings), 345V(3*2 harmonic windings), 298.8V3*1 soft starting windings). Each winding phase in LV is in the same place. Low voltage winding in 690V and 345V is star connection. The maximum deviation value of output voltage in basic harmonic winding and harmonic winding is ≤± 1%. The soft starting winding is Wye connection (neutral point is not led out). The actual output voltage of the soft starting winding is 298.8V,  and the capacity is 150kVA.



Transformer Structure


Winding: the high-voltage winding is H Class insulation with layer structure. The low voltage winding adopts the cross-over structure.



The winding is made of 410 - Nomex Paper produced by DuPont, which makes the transformer have the advantages of strong heat shock resistance, fast heat dissipation, high electrical strength, small expansion coefficient, small water absorption, high value of breakdown electric intensity of partial discharge and no cracking. The lower dielectric constant can reduce the air insulation distance and make the volume of transformer smaller. After two times of vacuum pressure impregnation, the winding has four prevention characteristics, i.e. damp proof, mould proof, salt fog proof and weak acid proof.

The core is made of Japanese 27G110 high permeability silicon steel sheet with grain orientation. We adopt lamination structure of three phases core type. This structure can reduce the no-load loss and current of core. After laminating, the application of epoxy resin adhesive can not only prevent corrosion and rust, but also make the silicon steel lamination form an whole to strengthen itself. At the same time it can reduce the vibration between lamination for making noise.

Proper flux density of core is of great significance to reduce core loss, improve efficiency, prevent harmonic interference, and restrain flux saturation after harmonic interference.
